Salt Lake City International Airport offers modern terminals, fast connections, ski-friendly baggage, and over 90 nonstop destinations—all just minutes from downtown and Utah’s world-class resorts.
In 2025, the Salt Lake City International Airport (SLC) continues to set new standards in airport modernization, passenger experience, and sustainability. As one of the nation's fastest-growing aviation hubs, SLC recently celebrated the completion of Phase 3 of its $5.1 billion Terminal Redevelopment Program—one of the most ambitious airport infrastructure projects in the U.S. The project, which began in 2014, is designed to meet long-term travel demand while offering a more streamlined, comfortable, and environmentally responsible travel experience.
The newly opened Concourse B East expansion adds 22 gates, significantly improving operational capacity and reducing aircraft taxi times. In addition, SLC now features enhanced baggage handling systems, intuitive wayfinding, and spacious gate areas with panoramic views of the Wasatch Range. Travelers can now enjoy more dining and shopping options from beloved local brands and national favorites, reinforcing Salt Lake City's unique culture as part of the airport experience.
For winter travelers headed to Utah’s world-renowned ski resorts, SLC offers one of the most convenient and ski-friendly airport experiences in North America. The airport was designed with mountain-bound passengers in mind, including multiple oversized baggage carousels specifically for skis and snowboards, faster curb-to-slope transfer times, and improved ground transportation options to Park City, the Cottonwood Canyons, and beyond. With most resorts less than an hour from the terminal, visitors can easily land in the morning and be skiing Utah’s famous powder by lunch.
Beyond aesthetics and convenience, Salt Lake City International is leading in sustainability. The airport’s redevelopment has earned accolades for its LEED Gold-certified buildings, energy-efficient systems, and innovative snowmelt technologies. Recent initiatives in 2025 include expanded electric ground service equipment infrastructure and further investment in renewable energy sources. SLC is on track to meet its ambitious goal of becoming one of the first large hub airports to achieve net-zero carbon emissions by 2040.
SLC’s transformation isn’t just about passenger amenities—it’s a catalyst for economic growth. With Delta Air Lines continuing to expand operations and new international routes launching in 2025, Salt Lake City is increasingly positioned as a major western gateway for global travel. The airport now connects more than 90 domestic and international destinations, driving tourism, commerce, and job creation throughout Utah and the Mountain West.
As travelers pass through the new terminal, they’re not just entering an airport—they’re experiencing a reimagined travel hub that reflects the innovation, beauty, and forward-thinking spirit of Salt Lake City and the broader Intermountain West.
A short-term parking terrace is located adjacent to the terminals. Rental car companies are located on the lower level of the parking garage. Long-term parking is located south-west of the terminal buildings and is served by shuttle buses. The shuttles run every five minutes and are free. General aviation facilities, including fixed base operators, are located on the east side of the airfield. All cargo companies are located on the north end of the airport campus.
Delta Air Lines operates a reservations center headquarters at the airport. Support facilities include two fire stations, an aircraft rescue fire fighting center and Delta and SkyWest Airlines maintenance hangars.
