PARK CITY, Utah (July, 2015) — No need to wait until 2016! Election season is around the corner in Park City with return of the Park City Area Restaurant Association Summer Cocktail Contest.
From July 1 to July 31, taste and then vote online for your favorite libations, rating each on a 1-to-10 scale judging both flavor and presentation.
And if you think the Republican field for president is big, it can’t hold a candle to the Cocktail Contest entrants for 2015: 17 bars and restaurants have signed up to compete this year. Cast ballots online by visiting the PCARA website, www.parkcityrestaurants.com.
“Last year was such a blast, and we’re so excited to be fielding so many competitors in the cocktail contest this year,” PCARA executive director Ginger Ries said. “Last year’s creations were all a delight – you’ll definitely want to visit all our participating bars and restaurants to make sure you try them all!”
Each participating establishment donated a $50 gift certificate to the PCARA to give away on the group’s Facebook page – be sure to keep logging on for a chance to win. The winning cocktail and its creator will be featured in a marketing campaign following the contest leading into PCARA’s popular Fall “Dine About” event. He or she will also walk away with $200 and, in a town with more than 30 top-notch bars and restaurants, some serious bragging rights.
The entrants include:
Billy Blanco’s: The Blanco Negro
Brass Tag: The Evangeline
Done to Your Taste Catering: The PC Beets
Flanagan’s
Grappa: The Hugo
High West Distillery & Saloon: The Treasure Mountain Fiz

Last year, High West Distillery & Saloon’s novel “Mustang Shandy” took the top prize, beating out more than a dozen other competitors with a combination of High Wset Son of Bourye, High West Campfire-infused honey syrup, fresh lemon juice and Boulevard Tank 7 Farmhouse Ale.
“Online voting gives all PCARA members a chance to participate, driving business to each establishment and giving guests the opportunity to cast a vote,” Ries said. “We’re eager to see how the contest unfolds, and we can’t wait to crown the winner.”
Previously, the PCARA’s cocktail contests contest took place for just one night only, at a venue in downtown Park City where a panel of guest judges would select the winning libation from just 16 participating venues. Under the new format, the contest takes place over nearly four weeks and opens voting to everyone, not only allowing residents and visitors alike to play a greater role in crowning Park City’s winter cocktail champion, but also giving them even more reason to visit the participating bars and restaurants, sampling the entries before casting their votes.
