ALTA IN APRIL

Celebrate spring at Alta, April 3-April 19, 2015

Alta, UT—The Alta community kicked off Alta in April on Friday, April 3rd with the Alta Gala. This collaborative fundraiser for Friends of Alta, Alta Community Enrichment and Alta Historical Society raises awareness for the arts, environment and history of Alta; fun was had by all who attended. This year Alta in April is packed full of events for everyone. “April is a great time to come up to Alta and enjoy the sunshine, spring skiing and great deals and events during Alta in April,” reports Alta Chamber and Visitors Bureau (ACVB) Executive Director Maggie Sullivan.

On Thursday, April 9, Alta Community Enrichment will host the last free yoga class as part of their winter yoga series at Our Lady of the Snows. Friends of Alta will host their Friends of Alta Social on Friday, April 10, an evening of wine, appetizers, socializing and short discussion on their efforts to protect and preserve the unique environment and character of Alta. Demo Day, sponsored by Powder House Ski Shops, Alta Ski Shop and Alta Ski Area will be held on Saturday, April 11. Demo 2015/2016 skis for free from all of the top brands! Enjoy live music on the deck of Goldminer’s Daughter Lodge and Pasty Marley Day featuring a chuck wagon lunch at the Albion Grill. Alta Earth Day will be held on Friday, April 17, this event encourages environmental stewardship, responsible recreation and awareness of the relationship between climate change and the future of the ski industry in Little Cottonwood Canyon and beyond. Talia Keys will be playing at Watson Shelter on Saturday, April 19 and 26. Also enjoy many lodging, restaurant and rental deals throughout Alta in April. All events are open to the public.
