WHAT: CenterCal Properties is breaking ground on an 8.5 acre mixed-use development project at Canyon Corners in Summit County. The project is comprised of 61,000 square feet of retail space and 20 apartment units which will be deed restricted as affordable. Whole Foods will be anchoring the project with a 43,000 square foot prototypical new store.
As part of their development agreement with the County, CenterCal will be incorporating a package of public benefits into the project. Canyon Corners will feature a new bus shelter, a bike share system as well as a financial contribution to the Kimball Junction Circulator bus program. The project will also feature 20 units of workforce housing that will be located on the 2nd story of the project’s 18,000 square foot shop building.
Opening for the Canyon Corners project is scheduled for Summer/Fall of 2017 with approximately 7-10 retailers and restaurants.
