Holidays Shine Bright at Stein Eriksen Lodge

Gourmet Dining, Lavish Decor and Impressive Gingerbread Display Await Holiday Guests

PARK CITY, Utah (December 21, 2015) – A festive, alpine getaway awaits guests of Stein Eriksen Lodge this holiday season. The World's Best Ski Hotel, as crowned by the 2015 World Ski Awards, and Utah's only Forbes Five Star, AAA Five Diamond property is sure to bring all the magical wonder of the holidays with its crowd-pleasing, elaborate gingerbread display, its towering 32-foot, lavishly decorated tree, its gourmet holiday feasts and more.

Set to capture all the whimsy of the world's most beloved underdog, this year's impressive gingerbread display will root on Charlie Brown and his “Peanuts” gang in a scene inspired from the highly anticipated movie. Charlie and the gang will be featured prominently, in their best gingerbread likeness, in the Main Lodge next to the 32-foot grand tree and boasts more than 600 pounds of gingerbread, 400 pounds of sugar, 60 pounds of fondant and more than 150 hours of creation time by Executive Pastry Chef Ann Giles and her team.

In addition to marveling at the gingerbread masterpiece, guests of all ages can express their own creativity in holiday gingerbread classes led by Chef Giles and Executive Chef Zane Holmquist. The Build Your Own Gingerbread House parties cost $60 per participant and include hot chocolate, gingerbread panels, icing, candies, instructions and gingerbread recipes from Chef Giles. Reservations can be made through the concierge at 435.645.6460. Guests will want to book early for the limited-sized classes and children eight and under require adult supervision.

Holiday festivities are made even more delightful with the lodge's savory, gourmet holiday meals. Special dining options at the acclaimed Glitretind Restaurant will be available to guests for Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve and New Year's Day. The Christmas Eve dinner features a special prix fixe holiday menu, two separate seatings, a children's menu and entertainment ($140 for adults, $30 for kids for first seating beginning at 5:30pm; $160 for adults, $30 for kids for second seating beginning at 7:30pm).

The Christmas Day celebration includes Stein’s traditional Christmas Day Buffet ($79 adults, $30 kids), with reservations available from 11am-2:45pm and a special Christmas Night Buffet ($85 adults, $35 kids) beginning at 5pm. Reservations are available until 7:30pm and credit cards and phone numbers will be required to make a reservation. Along with the delicious buffet, Stein's will have Christmas Carolers singing throughout the day for guest entertainment.

Stein’s New Year’s Eve celebration event includes a harpist, a band and dancing to accompany the gourmet dining. A prix fixe dinner menu will be offered in the Glitretind Restaurant, with two separate seatings. The first seating, beginning at 6pm, features a four-course menu and special children’s menu ($185 adults, $50 kids). The adults-only second seating begins at 8 pm and boasts a five-course menu ($235/person). Stein’s concierge can help coordinate child care arrangements for guests attending the second seating.

For New Year's Day, the lodge will offer its world famous Sunday Brunch, along with a number of New Year specialties. Reservations for the New Year's Buffet are available from 11:30am-3pm ($60 adults, $25 kids).

Holiday highlights at the adjacent Deer Valley Resort, voted the United States' Best Ski Resort, include an on-mountain visit from Santa Claus on Dec. 24 and a Torchlight Parade held Dec. 30 at dusk on Big Stick run on Bald Eagle Mountain. Complimentary hot cider and cookies will be served during the Torchlight Parade.

Stein Eriksen guests can further add to their alpine holiday experience by arranging with concierge for trees in their rooms, scheduling individual sleigh rides, taking advantage in youth activities offered through the lodge's Kids Club and enjoying first-class pampering at The Spa.

“Whether guests are looking to hit the slopes, unwind by a crackling open fire while sipping fine wine, feast on award-winning fare with all the trimmings or simply bask in extravagant holiday wonder, a stay at Stein Eriksen Lodge will provide lasting memories,” said Russ Olsen, CEO of Stein Eriksen Lodge. “Spending the holidays with us has become a favorite tradition among families because they are free to escape the mayhem and let us take care of every special detail. We delight in providing guests a true winter wonderland setting.”
