Ogden, Utah (May 2017) – The GOAL Foundation is excited to invite the public to participate in the third annual Ogden Marathon Mayor’s Walk presented by American Pet Nutrition on May 19 at the High Adventure Park at 6:00 pm.
“As part of the City of Ogden's healthy lifestyle initiatives, the GOAL Foundation is pleased to partner with American Pet Nutrition, the City and Mayor Mike Caldwell to bring you the Annual Mayor's Walk” stated Jenny Scothern, executive director of the GOAL Foundation. “This walk welcomes all members of the community, regardless of their fitness level to take part in a world-class event and experience part of the Ogden Marathon race course.”
The Mayor’s Walk is a family and dog-friendly event. The route starts at the High Adventure Park on 18th Street and Grant Avenue and follows the last mile of the Zion’s Bank Ogden Marathon race course. Participation is $10 and registered walkers will receive a shirt and a special commemorative challenge coin from Mayor Caldwell. Additionally, American Pet Nutrition’s dog food truck will be on site, handing out snacks and treats to furry friends in attendance.
“The GOAL Foundation encourages you and your pets to "Get Out And Live!", in our community,” said Scothern. “We're excited to offer another option when folks are considering how they are going to be involved in the marathon week of events.”
Mayor’s Walk Event Details:
When: Friday, May 19th at 6:00 pm
Parking: Park at the Ogden City Municipal Parking Lot, 26th and Grant. The Jupiter will depart at 5:45 pm from the Municipal parking lot to the start line.
Start Line Location: Start line is on 18th and Grant at the High Adventure Park.
Finish Line: Walkers will finish at the same finish line as the Ogden Marathon on 25th and Grant.

9:00 am: Free Shake Out Run with Javier Chavez (Weber State University Athletics Hall of Famer) at the Weber County Sports Complex
10:00 am - 8:00 pm: Altra Fun & Fitness Expo at the Weber Country Sports Complex
6:00 pm: Ogden Marathon Mayor’s Walk presented by American Pet Nutrition
May 20
6:05 am: Sunrise Canyon Bike Ride
6:45 am: Ogden Marathon 5K and Half Marathon Race Start
7:15 am: Ogden Marathon Full Marathon and Relay Race Starts
7:00 am – 1:00 pm: Finish Line Expo at the Ogden Municipal Gardens
