PARK CITY, UT – Known worldwide as the Grammy-winning, lead singer for Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductee, Heart, Ann Wilson is also unleashing her powerhouse vocals on her first ever solo tour. Hard rock’s “barracuda” rings in the New Year at The Eccles Center as The Ann Wilson Thing. Show starts at 8 p.m., December 31. Tickets and information are available via the box office, 435-655-3114 or online at www.EcclesCenter.org.

The powerful singer and songwriter behind such hits as “Crazy on You” and “Barracuda” (and more than 35 million in record sales) presents a New Year’s Eve show comprised of songs with personal meaning. Wilson’s instantly recognizable vocals and talent as a lyrical interpreter bring songs written by such legends as Ray Charles, Aretha Franklin, Buffalo Springfield, Bob Dylan, Peter Gabriel to life by “cranking up some killer tunes with pure passion!” (Classic Rock Revisited).

The Ann Wilson Thing’s debut EP (released this past fall) showcases the artist’s renaissance as she covers an array of rock icons – plus a bluesy original penned with her guitarist, Craig Bartock. And, as 100% Rock Magazine puts it, “Wilson nails it.”

“Ann Wilson is tremendous – as a vocalist and as an artist honing an ever-evolving craft,” says PCI executive director Teri Orr. “She and her band bring such energy and incredible performance to the stage. What a perfect – and, yes, bluesy and rockin’ – way to celebrate the New Year!

ENTERTAINING, EDUCATING AND ILLUMINATING SINCE 1998

Park City Institute is a non-profit organization, dedicated to bringing world-class performances and new ideas to the community. Since 1998, PCI has presented internationally renowned and cutting edge musicians, actors, authors, comedians, dancers, speakers and film at The George S. and Dolores Doré Eccles Center for the Performing Arts (a joint-use facility with the Park City School District). The organization will embark on its 13th season of headliner concerts at Deer Valley Resort next summer. PCI is dedicated to introducing young people to the arts through free student outreach workshops, shows and demonstrations. They proudly launched the Mega-Genius Supply Store and IQ HQ - an after school literacy program and very thinky retail store - in January 2010 and recently opened a second Mega-Genius retail shop in New Park this past spring. And the organization continues to illuminate with TEDx events, Curiosities evenings and the Park City Institute / Strategic News Service Future in Review Speaker Series.
