PARK CITY, Utah March 21, 2017 Spring has officially sprung in Utah bringing longer days, bluebird skies and sunshine to Park City Mountain. In celebration of spring, the 10th annual Spring Grüv will kick off at Park City Mountain on March 25 for 16 straight days of free concerts and daily activities, including the 21st Annual Pond Skimming competition.
Pond Skimming is one of Park Citys wildest traditions. On April 8, contestants will attempt to skim across a 100-ft pond in front of Red Pine Lodge on skis or a snowboard. A panel of five judges will award prizes for best costume, best splash and crash and best overall male and female. Pond Skimming kicks off at noon and an après concert will immediately follow the event on the Canyons Village Stage.
In tandem with Spring Grüv, Park City Mountains Spring Concert Series will continue at both base areas every Saturday through April 16, weather permitting. Crystal Fighters and MAGIC GIANT headline this years spring series with concerts on March 25 (Park City Base, 6 p.m.) and April 1 (Canyons Village Stage, 3 p.m.). The music will wrap up on April 16 with Closing Day Concerts at both of Park City Mountains base areas. A full concert schedule is listed here.

March 25th (Park City Base Area) Crystal Fighters
Formed in London, the members of Crystal Fighters play fast electronic dance music with both electric and acoustic guitars. Crystal Fighters uses synthesizers and Basque instruments among their folk, punk, and techno musical influences. Their recent third album, Everything is My Family, stages the bands mixed genre and charismatic harmonies.
April 1st (Canyons Village) MAGIC GIANT
In 2016 MAGIC GIANT moved bodies and souls in over thirty cities across North America, touring with bands such as Mike Posner and Beats Antique and playing festivals ranging from Electric Forest to Lightning in a Bottle. The LA indie band has built a reputation for its infectious sing-alongs and communal live experiences, blending folk instruments (banjo, fiddle, harmonica) with big drums and dance rhythms. They recorded their debut album from their solar-powered mobile recording studio and are set to release it Spring of 2017.
