Park City, Utah (February 2015) – Park City Mountain Resort hosts many of the world’s best snowboarders and freekiers when the Sprint U.S. Snowboarding & Freeskiing Grand Prix returns for three days of competition February 27-March 1, 2015.
Slopestyle competitions will be held in the Resort’s King’s Crown Terrain Park on February 27 while the 22’ Eagle Superpipe will host halfpipe events February 28-March 1.
A stacked list of athletes scheduled to compete includes 2014 Olympic Ski Slopestyle gold medalist and Park City All Star Joss Christensen.
“I’m really stoked to have the Grand Prix come back to Park City this year,” said Christensen. “It was one of my favorite events from last season and I can’t wait for this year. I’ve got to try and hold it down on my home turf!”
All three days of competition are free and open to the public, with spectator access for Slopestyle and Halfpipe events accessible steps from the resort plaza. More than $400,000 in prize money will be awarded over the four finals events.
Event coverage will air nationally on NBC March 1 at 12:30 p.m. EST, with live coverage on NBC Sports Network February 28 at 2:30 p.m. EST. All finals events Feb 27-Mar 1 will also stream live at: http://stream.nbcsports.com/liveextra/.
