Snowbasin, UT – May 17, 2018 – Snowbasin Resort is adding more summer programming for both adults and children on Saturdays and Sundays this summer. Everything from mountain top yoga, bike clinics, trail running clinics, and painting in nature, to weekly kids’ adventures tours and more, Snowbasin is the place for weekend outdoor activities. Andrew Barfield, Director of Base Area Services says, “Building on the positive reception to our Blues, Brews & BBQ Sunday concert series, the timing felt right to expand our summer offerings to everyone. We realize summer isn’t really the off-season anymore and wanted to offer a variety of activities providing an experience which is both adventurous yet comfortable for all ages.”
Join a certified yoga instructor for yoga at 8,900 feet every Saturday this summer June 9 – September 22. Classes start at 10:30 am at Needles Lodge. Class will combine breath and posture to attain a state of mindfulness and improved sense of well-being. Guests are asked to bring their own mat and water. Classes will cost $15 and include a complimentary gondola ride.
Snowbasin is bringing back their popular Introduction to Mountain Biking Clinic, every Saturday starting June 16th – September 1st and adding an Advanced Mountain Biking Clinic a few select Saturdays throughout the summer. Bike clinics will run from 10:30 am – 2:00 pm. Cost is $40 per participant and includes a complimentary gondola ticket. The introduction clinic is designed for a beginner to intermediate ability level, who feels comfortable riding a bicycle on the pavement. This clinic will use grassy fields and the trails Inner Moose Loop, Moose Loop, Maples Trail and/or Cirque Trail. The advanced clinic will be held on Saturday June 30th, July 21st, August 11th, and September 1st. This clinic will teach advanced maneuvers including bunny hops, navigating logs or large rocks, wheelie drops, and riding down steep grades with confidence. All the clinics are taught by PMBI certified instructors.
On Saturdays throughout the summer, Snowbasin is offering guided workshops covering an array of genres. Each workshop runs for about ninety minutes and is for guests twelve years and older. For the Yogi, there is a workshop exploring the philosophy of yoga and how to expand their personal practices on July 7th and August 14th for free. For the biker, there will be a trail side bike mechanics workshop, where the guest will learn the quick fixes to continue rides when their mechanic isn’t with them and something goes wrong on July 14th and August 11th for $15. For guests looking to get into trail running, there will be a workshop teaching the basics to get started on July 21st and August 18th for free. For the creative guest, there will be a painting in nature workshop on July 28th at the top of John Paul Chairlift and on August 25th at the top of Needles Gondola for $25, which includes paint, canvas and instruction.
On Sunday afternoons, parents can drop their kids off for a mountain adventure while they have a carefree time enjoying the free live music at Blues, Brews & BBQ. Every Sunday starting July 1st – August 19th kids ages 7-11 head out on the mountain for a guided adventure from 3:00 pm – 5:00 pm. Each week has a different theme and includes scavenger hunts, learning to read compasses, doing artistic activities in the outdoors, learning about wildlife and more. For just $15, kids get a snack, a lift ticket, and a guided adventure. The kids will come back happy, tired, and have a little more knowledge.
