Snowbird, UT (November 25, 2019) — Snowbird is opening on Friday, November 29, for the start of the 2019/20 ski season. Snowbird will offer skiing and snowboarding in Gad Valley during the Thanksgiving holiday weekend. New snow totals will determine Snowbird’s terrain and lift operations.
“As Snowbird fires up the lifts this Friday several new on-mountain amenities are in-store for Snowbird guests,” said Dave Fields, President and General Manager of Snowbird. “The launch of SeventyOne, a new retro-themed restaurant located at The Cliff Lodge, pays homage to Snowbird’s foundational year of operation. Patrons love the new menu of American grilled favorites, 70s décor, and historic posters lining the walls of this establishment.”
New for 2019-20, Snowbird Mountain Guides will offer an assortment of year-round guided activities. For those seeking added thrills on the mountain, Snowbird Mountain Guides now provide Powderbird helicopter skiing, all-mountain guided skiing, snowcat skiing, guided backcountry skiing, snowshoeing, and snowmobile tours. Snowbird Mountain Guides are based out of the Snowbird Center with easy access from the Plaza Deck.
Snowbird guests are encouraged to carpool to the resort this weekend. Snowbird R.I.D.E app users will begin accruing perks starting November 29, 2019. UTA ski bus routes will also be available for arrival at Snowbird. Please ensure all vehicles are outfitted for winter driving conditions when driving up Little Cottonwood Canyon.
