Lift Served Riding & Downhill Trails at Sundance
Winding through oak forests, pine groves, aspen stands, meadows and more, the intermediate and advanced mountain bike trails at Sundance feature adrenaline-pumping twists and turns. Riders can bang out laps from the chairlift or pedal uphill on their own power once trails open at 11 a.m.
A popular trail is Archie's Loop, an enduro-style trail that requires a little pedaling but plenty of amazing views along a ridge line overlooking North Fork Canyon with a heady drop-off to the right. Archie's Loop dumps you off into The Boneyard with nice flowy berms and plenty of turns. Another popular trail is Archie's Basin with a few technical sections, root gardens and fun flow. Try Scott's Pond for a decent climb and some fun features before catching Switchback Alley, which has served as a brutal climb for multiple cross country races. Head in a downhill direction for a thrilling and daring descent.
Further down the mountain riders will encounter Upper Lift Line, which melds into Lower Lift Line. These are the easiest biking routes at Sundance with wide turns, forgiving berms and a little less tech. For black diamond difficulty, catch Rock Drop, which is mainly a blue trail, except for the namesake rock drop with an option to ride around to the left.
