Central Wasatch Commission, UTA, and Partners Implement Increased Ski Bus Service for Cottonwood Canyons

On Monday 25, 2019 at 2:00 p.m., UTA Board of Trustees Chair Carlton Christensen, and CWC Chair Councilman Chris McCandless, will announce an increase to ski bus service for three routes servicing ski resorts in Little and Big Cottonwood Canyons.

Salt Lake City, UT (November 22, 2019) — On Monday 25, 2019 at 2:00 p.m., UTA Board of Trustees Chair Carlton Christensen, and CWC Chair Councilman Chris McCandless, will announce an increase to ski bus service for three routes servicing ski resorts in Little and Big Cottonwood Canyons. UTA will begin partial ski bus service on November 29, 2019, with full ski bus service for Little and Big Cottonwood Canyons beginning on December 1, 2019.

The changes are a direct result of funding from local jurisdictions, non-profit organizations, and the ski resorts.

To celebrate and learn more about the ski bus service increase, the Central Wasatch Commission and the Utah Transit Authority are asking you to join for the service increase announcement.

Utah Transit Authority Board of Trustees Chair Carlton Christenson, and Central Wasatch Commission Chair, Councilman Chris McCandless, will speak on behalf of UTA and the CWC. Representatives from the environmental community, the ski resorts, and the Utah Department of Transportation will also be present at the event.

WHERE: Big Cottonwood Canyon Park and Ride Lot, 3865 Big Cottonwood Canyon Road

The goal of the ski bus service increase is to provide more trips and faster service. The service increase is a reflection of the community addressing service gaps to serve more skiers and reduce traffic congestion.
