PARK CITY, Utah — Oct. 5, 2016 — It’s officially fall, and the whispers of winter grow louder. The mountains are calling, and due to their proximity, Utah kids hear that call louder than others. Providing five free days at Park City Mountain, the largest ski resort in the United States, Epic SchoolKids gives kids across Utah the opportunity to enjoy the many benefits of snow sports located right in their own backyard. The Epic SchoolKids Utah Pack does not require any purchases and also includes one free first-timer ski or snowboard lesson with free equipment rental. Registration is only available through Sunday, Oct. 9, and can be done online at www.epicschoolkids.com/utah. This is the last chance for Utah elementary school kids to gain access to one of the region’s premier ski resorts for free during the 2016-2017 season.
“Snow sports are a great way for Utah kids to stay active and connected with the outdoors throughout the winter months,” said Bill Rock, chief operating officer for Park City Mountain Resort. “The Epic SchoolKids program is making the experience even easier for Utah families by offering kids free skiing or snowboarding at Park City Mountain.”
Epic SchoolKids is available to all Utah kindergarteners through fifth graders, with free first-timer lessons offered in December or January, allowing those new to the sport the opportunity to continue to take advantage of their pass for the remainder of the season. Introduced for the 2015-2016 season, Epic SchoolKids is Vail Resorts’ way of giving back to the local community, while ensuring future generations have access to the sports of skiing and snowboarding.
Park City Mountain is also offering a special value to families purchasing equipment for kids through the Junior Trade-In Program, allowing families to save on gear as their kids grow. Families can purchase new ($199) equipment for their kids, then turn the gear in when the kids outgrow it and the annual price drops to $99 per year with the trade-in. For details and information, call the Breeze retail store at the Park City base area at (435) 649-1902 or Canyon Mountain Sports at (435) 615-3440.
Epic SchoolKids is having a positive impact on Utah families. “Thank you for making this opportunity available for kids in Utah to learn to love to ski,” said Scott Ericson from Bountiful, Utah.
“Skiing and snowboarding are the ultimate family sports,” Rock said. “At Park City, we’re trying to make it as easy as possible so families can enjoy the mountains together.”
Absolutely no purchases are necessary to take advantage of Epic SchoolKids, but registration is only available through Sunday, Oct. 9, 2016.
