Park City, Utah (June 2, 2015) – Treasure Mountain Inn, Park City’s first modern hotel and the first million-dollar project built on Historic Main Street, celebrates its 50th anniversary June 13, 2015.

“Thea and I are grateful to be part of Treasure Mountain Inn’s history,” says Owner/Operator Andy Beerman. “Our goal has always been to honor the history of the property while operating a hotel mindful of the future. We look forward to celebrating this milestone with the Park City community that has been so vital to our success from the beginning.”

Treasure Mountain Inn will celebrate the 50^th anniversary in conjunction with the Park City Historic Home Tour June 13, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. Treasure Mountain Inn owners Thea Leonard and Andy Beerman will join Park City dignitaries and historians for a champagne toast, a walk down memory lane and the unveiling of a commemorative plaque celebrating Treasure Mountain Inn’s past, present and future. Members of the public are invited to the event.

About Treasure Mountain Inn’s History

Treasure Mountain Inn was an idea a little ahead of its time,” says Owner/Operator Andy Beerman. “Treasure Mountain Inn has had to reinvent itself a time or two as Park City has evolved from a fledgling ski area to the gold standard of winter tourism. While the rest of Park City has expanded upward and outward, Treasure Mountain Inn continues to serve the heart of town perched at the top of Historic Main Street.

In 1963, skiing was the light at the end of Park City’s dark mining tunnel -- and the optimistic solution that the town needed in order to survive as a community. While the greater community did not yet have the faith that skiing would turn Park City around, a few forward thinkers did believe and began construction on Park City’s first modern hotel. Completed in late-1964, the Treasure Mountain Inn was Utah's first condominium hotel with the official opening held in February 1965.

Utah was relatively undiscovered as a recreation playground and Park City was fading along with its dwindling veins of precious metals. The arrival of the ski area, and Park City’s first inn to support it, heralded a new era. With a choice of locations, Treasure Mountain Inn’s forefathers built the hotel in the center of the town at the foot of Treasure Hill.

Today, the Treasure Mountain Inn stands proud along Main Street as a symbol of Park City's “modern” era. Guests at Treasure Mountain Inn enjoy 4-diamond rooms and modern amenities, halls lined with an extensive collection of historic photographs and antiques to memorialize the rich history.
