World's Steepest Slip and Slide Party at Olympic Park

In an effort to bring the new ski ramps at the Spence Eccles Olympic Freestyle Pool to the masses, Utah Olympic Park will be celebrating the final days of summer with Slip n’ Soar, a new event on Saturday, September 12 from noon to 5:00 P.M.

Park City, Utah (August 27, 2015) – In an effort to bring the new ski ramps at the Spence Eccles Olympic Freestyle Pool to the masses, Utah Olympic Park will be celebrating the final days of summer with Slip n’ Soar, a new event on Saturday, September 12 from noon to 5:00 P.M.

Slip n’ Soar will feature three ski ramps—the “mini ramp” and two “single ramps.” Participants will have the opportunity to slide down the ramps and launch into the one million gallon pool below in true slip and slide fashion, no skis necessary. The ramps will be specially outfitted with a synthetic material perfect for speed and style.

In addition to the slip and slide ramps, guests will have unlimited access to the Psicobloc Climbing Wall, friendly competition provided by Bubble Soccer USA, mechanical bull rides from Buck Wild, along with a host of summer games such as corn hole and table tennis.

Along with activities, there will be live music featuring Utah’s very own Changing Lanes Experience. This group of musicians has been playing together for more than 10 years and exemplifies endless summer days with their positive vibes and fun grooves. DJ Bentley will also be spinning tunes. Food, beer and other refreshments will be available for purchase.

Entry is $50 per person. The event is open to all abilities, ages 13 and older. Tickets for the event are available at UtahOlympicLegacy.org and on-site at Utah Olympic Park. Participants must be 13 years of age or older and be able to swim. Will Call opens at 11:00 A.M. and doors open at 12:00 P.M. Guests should plan to bring a swim suit and towel. Slip n’ Soar is a family-friendly event.

“The Utah Olympic Park team was looking for a way to share the experience of this incredible new training facility with Utahns,” said Marc Norman, Vice President of Sport and Venues. “It made so much sense to celebrate the last days of summer by opening up the Olympic Freestyle Pool and select water ramps to guests of all abilities.”

Utah Olympic Park’s fall hours of operation begin September 11 through October 25. Adventures activities including two zip lines, three ropes courses, Alpine Slide, Extreme Tubing, Drop Tower, and scenic chairlift rides are offered from 11 A.M. to 6 P.M. Fridays to Sundays. On the day of the event, participants who have purchased a Slip n’ Soar ticket will be eligible to receive a 50% discount on a Gold Pass for that day’s use only. Visit UtahOlympicLegacy.org to purchase event tickets and for more details.
