Winter is the season of giving and I’m here as a local artist ready to give you a serious seasonal shopping pep talk.

MY HEARTFELT ADVICE TO YOU:
Shift your shopping focus a little closer to home and plan to attend one of the many fantastic local artisan markets in your neighborhood!
Nothing says you care quite like gifting something handmade by a maker, baker, painter, sculptor, or soaper (the correct term for one who makes soap). I can personally attest to how satisfying and miraculous it is when people show up at an art market to admire, purchase and support my artwork. Not only do you depart with a meaningful gift with a cool story, you directly support the creative work of people in your neighborhood. The artists win, you win, and your giftee can enjoy something unique and made with care.
As an artist, I’ve been preparing for my December art market season since…July! Months of work, hours of toil and a lot of hope go into the preparation for market season. We artists are never entirely certain if people will show up and appreciate our months-long grind. By attending a local art market, you keep the dreams of artists alive and support their motivation to keep creating. Shop local this season, meet interesting artists, discover their stories and share the gift of handmade love.
Here is a list of my favorite markets in the Park City and Salt Lake areas. Markets are arranged in chronological order to accommodate early to delinquent holiday shoppers. I hope to see you at the Red Butte Garden Holiday Open House, the Alta A.C.E. Winter Market, or the T.F. Brewing Christkindlmarket.
