The ski season is right around the corner and this guy couldn't be more excited about it! The moment summer ended, our weather pattern totally flipped. After suffering through the hottest summer in history, the end of September and the beginning of October have actually felt a lot more like late November. By my count, it has snowed on September 15th, 19th, 23rd, 24th and October 2nd and 4th! Don't believe me?
Check out this image that my backyard camera captured in Park City back on September 24th.
Here is what Deer Valley Resort looked like on the morning of the 25th
As the temperatures continue to fall I wouldn't be surprised if we begin to see some of the resorts fire up their snow guns. If there is one thing I've learned living out here for past 11 years is, if you can make snow and get a mountain open for skiing and riding Brighton will get it done. Year after year Brighton always gets a jump start on the season. At the moment Brighton is scheduled to open as soon as possible. You've got to love it when a resort doesn't even give you an opening date. I think we all know what that means...
Here's a full list of Utah resort opening dates:
Alta Ski Area: November 22
Beaver Mountain: TBD
Brian Head Resort: November 17
Brighton: As Early As Possible
Cherry Peak: December 18
Deer Valley Resort: December 2
Eagle Point: December 21
Nordic Valley: December 9
Park City Mountain: November 17
Powder Mountain: TBD
Snowbasin Resort: November 22
Snowbird: November 22
Solitude Mountain Resort: December 2
Sundance Mountain Resort: December 8
Excited to see you all on the slopes soon! Hopefully this year I can get back on track and ski over 100 days again. Last year, I must say was an embarrassment. I think I only skied 90 something days. I know, I know that's just unacceptable! I promise to do better this season. #seepowskipow
