Twenty years ago, Promontory founder Francis Najafi had a vision for a mountain community in Park City that went beyond a typical golf-centric development. He saw the potential for an unconventional mountain club for all ages that was neither a traditional ranch nor merely a mountain version of your parent’s country club.
“Francis wanted to build a home base for families to explore and enjoy every aspect of the mountain lifestyle,” says Chris Messick, Director of Promontory Real Estate Sales.
And yes, of course, there is golf—with two courses, one an award-winning Jack Nicklaus Signature design—but Promontory’s mission has always been to create active and engaging experiences for all ages. Now, two decades later that vision is fully realized and drawing once-visitors, now residents from every state in the country.
“The last two years have given people a moment to reflect on how they want to live and the opportunity to live where they truly want,” Messick says.
Promontory is growing and opening up new sites, Messick says, looking toward 700 new properties to release. “We are adding new inventory and opportunities to join the Promontory community,” he says. “There is no time frame for building on a site, but for owners looking to build right away we have our own builders, Promontory HOMES, with more than 15 proven floorplans and custom options.”
Owners/members establish year-round basecamps just a stone’s throw from Park City. The natural landscape draws them here but the club services allow them to enjoy, specifically for ski season, unparalleled access to two of Utah’s famed resorts, Park City Mountain and Deer Valley Resort. With regular shuttles, gear valets and lockers and access to private on-mountain ski lodges at each, enjoying The Greatest Snow on Earth® becomes a singular experience. And, back at basecamp, families and friends enjoy après at one of four dining spots (a fifth, the poolside Beach House, is open in warmer seasons), an ice skating rink, magic-carpet-served tubing hill (with hot cocoa for the kids of course) and a network of groomed trails for cross-country skiing and show shoeing. And coming soon, an indoor golf training facility will keep the golf lovers on their game year-round.
“At so many private communities, amenities are promises that are never seen through,” Messick says. “Our founder is fulfilling his promise of building amenities and continuing to add ways for our members to truly experience the mountain lifestyle.
