CELEBRATE CHRISTMAS AND NEW YEAR’S WITH PARK CITY

It’s the most wonderful time of the year in the most wonderful food and drink destination in the West.

PARK CITY, Utah (Dec. 2016) — It’s the most wonderful time of the year in the most wonderful food and drink destination in the West.

The Park City Area Restaurant Association in Park City, Utah, invites friends and neighbors from across the region and around the world to celebrate Christmas and New Year’s Eve with its member restaurants this month, which are serving special menus for the holidays.           

APEX AT MONTAGE DEER VALLEY

Christmas Eve: Four-course prix fixe, $135 per guest, $45 for children 5-12

THE BRASS TAG AT THE LODGES AT DEER VALLEY

Christmas Eve and Christmas Day: Three-course prix fixe, $50 per guest, $25 optional wine pairing.

Seasonal selections are on the menu at The Brass Tag this Christmas. Dinner opens with baby iceberg wedges served with toasted hazelnuts, honey lardons, Port Reyes blue cheese, roasted cherry tomatoes and buttermilk dressing. Then choose between braised agave glazed short rib with roasted parsnips and carrots, saffron whipped potatoes and natural jus, or chicken saltimbocca with Creminelli prosciutto cotto, Heber Valley juustoleipa cheese, sage, roasted sweet potato wedges and caramelized onion ragu. Dessert is pumpkin crème brûlée with berries and caramel tuile.

DEER VALLEY GROCERY~CAFÉ

Take-away menu. Orders must be placed by 5 p.m. Dec. 21, and picked up Dec. 24 by 7 p.m. 

Skip the kitchen and brighten your Christmas with selections from Deer Valley’s famed Grocery~Café. Enjoy Niman Ranch braised short ribs or duck confit, which both serve two, plus artisan Caesar salad, Deer Valley roasted garlic mashers and roasted butternut squash. Then choose from more than a dozen pies, breads and other delights. Selections include pumpkin pie with gingersnap crust, apple cheddar pie, cranberry linzer tart, chocolate silk pie, pecan pie, eggnog cheesecake, cranberry orange pecan bread, and a tiramisu yule log with meringue mushrooms, chocolate leaves and candied cranberries. Traditional apple, blueberry and pumpkin pies are also available, as well as French baguettes and wild rice harvest bread. 

ESCALA PROVISIONS COMPANY AT HYATT CENTRIC PARK CITY

Christmas Eve: Buffet, $55 per guest, $19 for children 12 and younger

This delicious buffet features more than a dozen classic selections: Start with chopped Caesar salad, mixed greens with roasted butternut squash and candied pecans, and sweet potato soup with spicy walnuts, then enjoy main selections like cider-brined pork loin, maple-glazed turkey breast, herb-crusted salmon, cornbread stuffing, roasted vegetables, apples and fingerling potatoes, and Brussels sprouts with chestnuts. A range of pies, cakes and brownies will be available for dessert.

New Year’s Eve: Four -course prix fixe, $75 per guest

An amuse of duck prosciutto on a rye cracker with fresh-ground mustard and pickled berries sets the tone for this sumptuous New Year’s Eve dinner. Enjoy cauliflower and roasted apple soup with bacon caviar and caramelize cauliflower, followed by arugula-flower salad with strawberries, pistachio and champagne vinaigrette. For dessert, choose between beef tenderloin with wild mushroom ravioli, carrot puree and foie gras with hazelnut sauce, or pan-seared salmon with spätzle, house bacon, Brussels sprouts and lemon-butter sauce. Dessert rounds out the evening with warm chocolate cake, chocolate ice cream and pecan caramel sauce.

GRUB STEAK

Christmas Day: Three-course prix fixe, $42.75 per guest

Park City’s beloved steakhouse is serving sumptuous three-course dinners for the holidays. For Christmas, start with your choice of hearts of romaine Caesar salad, wild rice and mushroom soup, or Park City’s best salad bar, followed by roasted pork loin with dried cranberry relish, and, for dessert, warm chocolate pecan pie and vanilla bean Haagen Dazs ice cream.

New Year’s Eve: Three-course prix fixe, $75.75 per guest

For New Year’s Eve, enjoy salad, soup or the salad bar, followed by surf-and-turf featuring slow-roasted strip loin certified angus beef topped with béarnaise and Maine lobster tail. Dessert is a delicious chocolate lava cake with Haagen Dazs vanilla ice cream and fresh berries.

THE MARIPOSA

New Year’s Eve: Four-course prix fixe, $125 per guest, $50 optional wine pairing. Vegetarian and vegan options available.

This premier fine-dining destination at Deer Valley Resort is serving a delectable four-course prix fixe for New Year’s Eve. The evening starts with a selection of beluga lentil and smoked halibut stew, nori and sesame seared No. 1 ahi, capaccio of Yarmony Ranch Wagyu beef, or aged gruyère and chive soufflé. Then enjoy a choice of burrata with fresh basil and heirloom cherry tomatoes, sweet potato gnocchi or kale trio and collard greens salad. The main course features harissa and fresh herb crusted Niman Ranch lamb chops, pan roasted sea scallops or seared bison fillet, followed by luminaria with passion fruit crémeux, Amano chocolate torte and passion fruit caramel sauce for dessert.

One of Park City’s most acclaimed restaurants is serving three specials for Christmas, in addition to its regular award-winning menu. 

New Year’s Eve: Private dinner party

Join Riverhorse for an exclusive New Year’s Eve celebration. Enjoy a five-course gourmet dinner, with a live band, dancing and midnight champagne toast. Reservations accepted on a first-come, first-serve basis; reservations can be made as early as 6 p.m. 

TUPELO

Christmas Eve: $75 five-course tasting menu, $55 optional wine pairing. A la carte selections from the restaurant’s regular menu are also available

Enjoy globally-inspired fine dining with Tupelo, whose menu honors artisanal ingredients and food terroir. On Christmas Eve, enjoy five gourmet courses, starting with sliced cobia, blood orange, maple bitters, fennel fronds and pickled chilies, followed by smoked venison carpaccio with pickled beets, blackberry jam and a bacon fat cracker. Then enjoy roasted bass with Carolina polenta, bread-and-butter squash, and epselette butter; and whiskey-glazed pork cheeks with parsnip puree, green apple and rosemary crumbs. Dessert is a delightful apple confit with sour apple sorbet and salted caramel. 

Christmas Day: $75 five-course tasting menu, $55 optional wine pairing. A la carte selections from the restaurant’s regular menu are also available.

This Christmas Day menu starts with a deviled egg with crème fraiche and osetra caviar, followed by cauliflower soup with shaved winter truffle and duck fat pistachios, then pan-roasted diver scallop with squash caponata, bone broth and smoked soy, and coffee crusted rib steak with baked beans, passion fruit and red eye jus. For dessert enjoy poached pear with salted caramel vanilla ice cream.

New Year’s Eve: Five-course tasting menu, $125 per guest, $65 optional wine pairing

Tupelo is pulling out all the stops for New Year’s Eve. The sliced cobia with blood orange, maple bitters, fennel and Snake River caviar – which opens the Christmas Eve tasting menu – makes a return, followed by a new twist on that menu’s smoked venison carpaccio, which will be served with pecorino, poached farm egg and shaved black truffles. For the third course, indulge in butter-poached Maine lobster, served with Carolina polenta, foie gras an madeira, then enjoy roasted Wagyu beef with born marrow brulee, creamed kale and black trumpet mushrooms. The apple confit with sour apple sorbet and salted caramel makes a resounding return for dessert.

WALDORF ASTORIA PARK CITY

Christmas Day: $69 buffet for adults, $25 for children 3-11: 
Give your stomach the gift of Powder’s Christmas buffet this holiday season. Enjoy breakfast staples like eggs with potatoes, bacon, turkey sausage, chorizo hash and more; a range of fruits, cheeses, salads and soups; seafood like smoked Utah trout, West Coast oysters, smoked salmon and poached jumbo prawns; baked pies, cakes, pastries and cookies; and traditional items like candied yams, Yukon Gold mashed potatoes, roasted root vegetables and sautéed Brussels sprouts. A carving station will be serving grass-fed prime rib, roasted turkey and rosemary and garlic-crusted leg of lamb, and entrées of Kurobuta pork loin and miso-glazed sea bass will also be on offer.
 

New Year’s Eve: $85 four-course prix fixe, $105 with wine pairing

Powder’s special New Year’s Eve dinner starts with a West Coast oyster with hogwash, followed by apple rutabaga bisque with Utah goat cheese, fennel and maple sherry gastrique. Then enjoy a choice of garlic chicken with black garlic, spinach, potato puree and leeks; king salmon with sunchokes, dill, fennel and Brussels sprouts; or braised beef short rib with mushroom ragu, carrots, kale and horseradish potatoes. Dessert is a brown butter cheesecake with apricot, graham cracker and peach. 

WINDY RIDGE BAKERY

Take-away menu. Christmas orders must be placed by Dec. 16. Pick-up Dec. 24. No special orders between Dec. 18 and Jan. 1.

Enjoy delicious traditional brunch quiche, cakes and tarts from Park City’s premier Windy Ridge Bakery. Sweet selections include Buche de Noel, traditional chocolate cake roll filled with sweetened whipping cream and chocolate ganache, and garnished with holiday décor; “Mile-High Apple Pie;” dark chocolate truffle cake; and apple frangipane tart made with apricots and golden almond cake filling, and baked in a pate sucree shell. For more savory options, choose from the tomato spinach quiche with roasted tomatoes, spinach, caramelized onion and goat cheese; or the ham and Swiss quiche with black forest ham, caramelized onions, Swiss cheese and scallions. Prices range from $20 to $35.
