DEER VALLEY RESORT, PARK CITY, UTAH (December 2016) – Deer Valley Resort announced the promotion of Steve Graff to Director of Mountain Operations effective January 16, 2017. Chuck English, Deer Valley’s director of mountain operations since 1986, will be retiring from the position after 44 years in the ski industry. Most recently, Graff has been Deer Valley’s Ski Patrol Manager, which included overseeing mountain biking operations in the summer months. “Deer Valley set the standard for ski resort operations and Chuck was instrumental to creating that foundation,” said Bob Wheaton, president and general manager for Deer Valley Resorts. “We are so lucky to have Steve’s experience and tenure at Deer Valley to continue operating a top-notch mountain destination.” As the Director of Mountain Operations, Graff will oversee all mountain activity in the summer and winter, including; chairlift operations, snowmaking, grooming, guest services, ski patrol, mountain venues and resort maintenance. Graff joined the Deer Valley® team in 1993 as a ski/mountain bike patroller and within two years he became a ski patrol supervisor. Graff was appointed to Assistant Ski Patrol Manager in 1998 and in the summer of 1999 he began managing the summer mountain bike program. In 2000, Graff was promoted to Ski Patrol Manager. Prior to Deer Valley, Graff was employed at Snowbird Ski and Summer Resort from 1988 to 1994. He has been married to his wife Christa for 17 years and is the proud father of two daughters. In addition to his many roles at Deer Valley, Graff served on the board of the Mountain Trails Foundation and as the Chief of Medical for many FIS Freestyle Ski World Cups at Deer Valley.
