PARK CITY, Utah (April 10, 2015) — Handle, Park City’s new destination for locally-sourced, seasonally-inspired American cuisine — already attracting rave reviews from Salt Lake City to Manhattan — is proud to join the Park City Area Restaurant Association.
Handle, which opened in August at 136 Heber Ave. in Historic Park City, strives to serve local and regional ingredients at the height of freshness. With a simply crafted yet balanced menu, executive chef Briar Handly — working alongside Melissa Gray, Meagan Nash and their rockstar staff — transform diners’ notion of familiar food and drinks, creating inspired dishes served in a warm and lively setting.
“Our name, HANDLE, emphasizes who we are and what we do; HANDLE simply states our idea of crafting by hand and “handling” ingredients with respect and little manipulation. Whenever possible we strive to acquire the freshest ingredients and handle them with care and passion in order to pay respect to the Artisans, Farmers and Rancher that work so hard to supply us. This idea then turn translates to truly inspired dishes and happy guess” Handly said.
And it’s attracted plenty of attention, too. Not only has Handle earned glowing reviews from critics near and far, its Caramel Pudding — served in a jar with whipped mascarpone and Chex Mix cake crumb — earned a write-up in the New York Times, which called the confection “sneaky and delicious.”
“Our Caramel Pudding has become so popular over the last 8 months, I don’t see it going away, ever.” Handly said.
Handle serves a range of mouthwatering small plates like beef cheek sliders on brioche with pimento cheese; shishito peppers with spicy mustard; beet root salad with ricotta, Vermont maple syrup and sherry vinaigrette; duck rilette with crème faiche fumet, Idaho walnuts, and romanesco; smoked trout sausage with red pepper butter and pickled vegetables; and grilled baby octopus with romaine hearts, Caesar and charred eggplant ricotta.
Heartier options include delicious fried chicken, Loch Duart salmon; and all-American cheeseburger, and “The Baller” prime bone-in ribeye, served with duck-fat roasted potatoes and broccolini.
“Even though we’ve been open for just a few months, the community response has been phenomenal. We’re thrilled to now be joining the community restaurants that make up the PCARA,” Handly said.
More than 70 restaurants are part of the association, the organization provides a wealth of resources to help restaurant owners and managers promote their establishments and coordinate marketing campaigns through digital, broadcast, print and social media, as well as special events.
