Utah Ski Resorts Received Over 5 Feet of Snow Over the Holiday; Several Ski Areas Now Open for the Season

Utah resorts welcomed over five feet of fresh snow through the holiday week, making for powder filled opening days for several ski resorts.

Salt Lake City, UT (December 1, 2019) – Five Utah ski resorts opened during Thanksgiving week, bringing the total open ski resorts to eight. Along with the excitement of opening day, Utah ski resorts all over the state saw remarkable snow totals throughout the holiday week, making for especially spectacular opening days at Alta Ski Area, Powder Mountain, Snowbasin Resort, Snowbird, and Solitude Mountain Resort.

“Winter has officially arrived to Utah!” said Nathan Rafferty, CEO and president of Ski Utah. “We saw huge accumulations of snow across all of our ski resorts last week, and we could not be happier to see all of these ski areas opening with excellent conditions over the holiday weekend.”

Brian Head Resort, Brighton Resort, and Park City Mountain were already open for the season and enjoyed incredible conditions as well over the holiday. Thanks to plentiful snow, terrain continues to open at these resorts and Brian Head was able to open their newest lift, Navajo Express.

Check out last week’s storm totals at these Utah ski resorts that are all open for the winter:
