Looking for something different to do in Northern Utah this weekend? Instead of spending your Sunday dreading the week ahead, why not make it the highlight of your week? A short drive from Salt Lake City, Snowbasin Resort offers all-day fun that combines adventure, tasty treats, live music, cool draft beer, and crisp mountain air. Whether you’re heading up with friends, family, or your pup, summer at Snowbasin Resort is the best cure to the Sunday scaries.
Step 1: Bougie Brunch with a View
Snowbasin Scenic Gondola Rides run on Saturdays and Sundays from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., giving you a lift straight to the top of the resort. At Snowbasin Needles Lodge, you’ll find a gourmet buffet that puts your typical brunch to shame. Carving stations, fresh fruit, made-to-order omelets, and crispy bacon, served alongside panoramic views of the Northern Wasatch. Brunch runs from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., and trust me: enjoying coffee on a deck with 360° mountain views will have you forgetting work on Monday even exists.
Step 2: Hike or Bike Your Way Back to the Base
After fueling up at Snowbasin Needles Lodge, it’s time to explore Snowbasin Resort summer terrain. With miles of trails, you have plenty of options whether you’re hiking, mountain biking, or taking your dog for a walk.
Hikers can get some serious elevation and incredible views from three different trails, all of which start at the top of the gondola and access Snowbasin Resort's rugged ridgeline. Choose from Ridge Trail, Strawberry Trail, or the longest option, John Paul Trail, to take you up to different scenic lookouts over both the city of Ogden and the Ogden Valley. While you’re up there, see if you can guess where some of the venues for the 2034 Winter Olympics might be! Once you’ve checked out the ridge, you can either take one of the many multi-use trails back to the base or hop back on the gondola to return to the base.
As for mountain biking, Snowbasin offers some of the best trails in Ogden Valley. The trails are long and more cross-country biased than some of the other resorts in Utah, so be ready with lots of snacks and water. These trails offer a lot of fun terrain deviations, rock gardens, wildflowers, and incredible views. If you’re looking for something a little gentler on the suspension, check out the Snowbasin Trail to Green Pond loop; it meanders through aspen groves, over wooden bridges, and is dog-friendly. If you’re ready for something a bit more aggressive, check out the Porcupine trail! It’s built specifically for mountain bikers and offers some of the fastest terrain at Snowbasin.
And if you’re not quite sure where to start with your hiking adventure, check out this blog to help guide you on good hiking etiquette!
Step 3: Midday Mini Golf
Once you’ve made your way back to the base area, keep the fun going with a round of mini golf at the Wildflower Course. Open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on weekends, this 18-hole course offers just the right mix of tranquil mountain vibes and friendly (or not so friendly) competition. It’s great for kids, first dates, or just filling the gap between your outdoor adventure and afternoon plans.
Step 4: Blues and Brews
Every Sunday through August 24, the base area transforms into the best party in the Ogden Valley, Blues & Brews! This summer music series features live bands, local breweries, food trucks, and plenty of grassy space to bring your furry friends. Music starts around noon, with headliners taking the stage around 4 p.m.
One of the best parts? Dogs are welcome! Snowbasin Resort is one of the most dog-friendly resorts in Utah, and Blues & Brews is no exception. Bring your furry friend, find a spot on the lawn, and enjoy some tail-wagging tunes while sipping a local beer and watching the sun dip behind the mountains.
If you have a Premier Season Pass, concert access is included. Otherwise, tickets start at just $10, with Scenic Gondola Rides and mini-golf available as an add-on.
Why Snowbasin Resort Should Be Your New Sunday Ritual
From mountaintop brunch to mini golf and live music, Snowbasin Resort Sunday Funday lineup offers something for everyone. It’s a way to unplug, move your body, and soak up the mountain air.
Instead of easing into Monday with a sigh, you’ll roll into your week feeling refreshed, recharged, and like you squeezed every last drop of fun out of your weekend. Whether you come for the food, the trails, the brews, or all of the above, the only thing scary about Sunday will be how quickly it flies by.
