Woodward: Park City’s Newest Adventure Playground

When you walk into Woodward Park City, you're pretty sure you've been transported to the ultimate adventure junkie's dream where misty flips, mid-air grabs and Cork 7s rule in a massive sports park of pump tracks, mini ramps, a parkour zone, Olympic-grade trampolines and foam pits. This adrenaline-pumping 125-acre playground has been several years in the making and the painstaking attention to detail in its construction has ensured that every element has come together with functionality and safety.

This is not my first encounter with POWDR's Woodward portfolio. When my family lived in Colorado, we would often visit the Woodward at Copper Barn at Copper Mountain, an impressive 19,400-foot indoor playground.

Woodward Park City has raised the stakes even higher.  This Is The Place where pros will test their newest tricks and where futures stars (and amateurs) will learn to ride and fly in what will assuredly bring a cavalcade of devotees of all ages.

What is Woodward Park City?

Woodward Park City is the nation's first all-in-one action sports and ski resort with a fully integrated and state-of-the-art campus, complete with indoor and outdoor action sports venues for year-round adventure. That's right, Woodward Park City will be open 365 days and nights a year starting this 2019-20 winter season. Grand opening festivities will be December 14, 2019.

Who is it for?

Contrary to public belief, Woodward Park City is not just for skiers and snowboarders. It will offer instruction and progression in 10 different sports and activities including snowboarding, skiing, tubing, mountain biking, skateboarding, BMX, scooter, parkour, cheer and digital media.

Do I need to be an extreme athlete?

Nope! Woodward Park City will offer a variety of ways for passionate action sports athletes to play-- from never-evers to families to pros. Activities will include lift-accessed snowboarding, skiing and tubing in the winter and biking and skating in the summer.

What are the amenities?

The 66,000-square-foot indoor facility will not only give access to all sports on wheels, but consists of over 30,000-square feet of programmable activity space for classes or free use. The Woodward Mountain Park will promote easy and forward-focused skill development within the Start Park and Progression Parks zones, a creatively designed, unique, ever-evolving Peace Park, the hikeable jib features at Red's Backyard, and freestyle terrain parks that progress from small to medium and large, including a 22-foot halfpipe. Guests can choose their own pathway and set their own pace to build personal skills and adventure within every zone with the help of the digital media lab.

For those who just want to watch, Woodward provides multiple seating/viewing areas. There is also a cafe and bar with a walk-up cafeteria on the third floor.

As conditions permit, Woodward Mountain Parks will be open every day throughout the winter season. There is no extra fee to experience the Woodward Mountain Park; access is available with a regular lift ticket or season pass to the mountain.

What about the tubing hill?

Good news! Woodward Park City's tubing operations will include lighted and lift-serviced snow tubing.

How much does it cost?

Access will be available through all-access passes, day sessions, lift tickets, drop-in sessions, day camps, lessons, monthly memberships, and special events. Monthly memberships are available now for the introductory rate of $100/month.
