Most ski resorts with summer operations also boast a variety of activities and entertainment, like this robust list of free concerts.
Free Summer Concert Roundup

There is an abundance of free music at Utah ski resorts and beyond this summer – putting together this roundup was no easy feat because the options, locations, and artists are endless in mountain towns and ski resorts around the state.

Brighton
Described as “summer feasts paired with foot-tapping beats” the Mt Majestic Music Series at Brighton is every Saturday and Sunday through September 17 at the slopeside Alpine Rose lodge deck from 1-5pm. Enjoy great local music and finger-licking good food from the BBQ tent like a street corn station, fried foods, and all the traditional grilled and sauced snacks you can think of!

Sundance Mountain Resort
You may have heard a thing or two about Sundance Mountain Resort's legendary Owl Bar; an Old West classic (restored from the 1890s to be exact) with storylines traced to Butch Cassidy and moved from nearby Wyoming. Every Friday and Saturday night you have the opportunity to enjoy this unique and beautiful space, enjoy refreshments from one of the best food and beverage programs in the state, and catch some free local tunes while you're at it.

Snowbird
There is tons of music during Snowbird's annual Oktoberfest - don't worry, you don't have to wait until the fall to enjoy it, Oktoberfest kicks off in mid-August and runs through mid-October. The beer isn't free but the music is! Opportunities to enjoy this German-inspired entertainment can be found at Oktoberfest Halle Entertainment from Noon - 6 pm, the Chickadee Stage from 2 - 5 pm, and enjoy Alphorns at the top of Hidden Peak at 3 pm.

Solitude Mountain Resort
Every Sunday all summer at a selection of Solitude's best venues including the Moonbeam base area (entry 1), Solitude Village (entry 2) and Last Chance Lodge (entry 2). Food trucks, drinks, The Red Wagon Coca-Cola truck (availability based on concert location) and Argenta Pub will all be ready to serve you refreshments for your night in the mountains of Big Cottonwood Canyon.

Park City Mountain
On select Thursdays and Saturdays through August, Park City Mountain hosts free music at the Canyons Village. Enjoy a variety of music from across the country while hanging with friends and family in this beautiful outdoor setting. Food and beverage is available for purchase.

Park City
: This mountain town has some of the best outdoor concerts and so many free options. Every Wednesday and Saturday from 10am – 1pm the Park City library in Old Town Park City offers free music through September 6 on their outdoor patio. This family-friendly environment is a perfect place to pack a picnic lunch and enjoy this one-of-a-kind opportunity. The Newpark Amphitheater also offers a BYOB and picnic style event next to the Swaner Preserve. It’s a beautiful place to ebike in, catch the free entertainment, and enjoy all the Newpark Town Center has to offer. The Newpark Concert Series kicks-off at 6pm (we suggest you arrive early)  with upcoming shows on July 28, August 4, 11, 18, 25, and September 1st.

Plan a night with family and friends, escape the Utah heat, and enjoy the cool mountain air with some fun tunes and the best backdrops the state has to offer, or enjoy a night out in the city and take advantage of a plethora of restaurants and bars before or after you jam out to some local tunes. If you’re in Northern Utah there are a great many resources like Visit Park City Visit Salt Lake, Now Playing Utah, and Mountain Town Music that list out these wonderful events and so much more.
