What’s New This Spring at Park City Mountain

Park City Mountain’s Spring Concert Series presents free concerts every Saturday through April 7. New this year, Park City Mountain will host Pink Park City on Saturday, March 24 to support research at Huntsman Cancer Institute. Park City Mountain will host 16 straight days of free concerts and activities as part of the 11th annual Spring Grüv from Saturday, March 24 – Sunday, April 8. The 22nd annual Pond Skimming competition will take place on Saturday, April 7.

PARK CITY, Utah – March 2018 – Park City Mountain is diving into spring with a packed schedule of spring events, free concerts, perfectly groomed slopes, unbeatable après ski and dreams of the  perfect bluebird day. Spring festivities officially began on March 3 as Park City Mountain kicked off its Spring Concert Series and six straight weeks of free, Saturday concerts. At the end of March, Park City Mountain will host the first annual Pink Park Citycharity event on Saturday, March 24 and the resort will close out the 2017-18 ski season with the much-loved Spring Grüv festival and 22nd annual Pond Skimming competition.

Spring Concert Series: Saturday, March 3 – Sunday, April 8

Beginning Saturday, March 3, Park City Mountain will host six straight weeks of free après ski concerts every Saturday at both the Park City Mountain Village and Canyons Village. Concerts will begin at 3 p.m. and feature a variety of bands including Rage Against the Supremes, The PATWA Reggae Band and Tony Holiday & the Velvetones. NEW Music with a View Series: Saturday, March 3 – Saturday, March 31   

New this season, Park City Mountain will debut Music with a View, a new on-mountain, lunchtime concert series presented by Verizon. On Saturdays throughout March, favorite local Park City bands including Motherlode Canyon Band and Lash Larue will perform lunchtime concerts at select on-mountain restaurants including Red Pine Lodge, Mid Mountain Lodge and Miners Camp.  

NEW Spring Chef Dinners at Legends Bar & Grill: Tuesday Evenings in March 

This Spring, Legends Bar & Grill will host a series of Chef Dinners on Tuesday evenings in March at 6:30 p.m. Dinner guests will enjoy a five-course, prix fixe menu designed exclusively for the evening by the talented chefs at Legends. Select dishes include pan seared sea scallops with vanilla beurre blanc, lemon foam, blood orange caviar and squid ink tuile, and herb crusted beef tournedo medallions with a grapefruit scented demi glace. 10th Anniversary of the Epic Pass: Sunday, March 18

In celebration of the 10th anniversary of the Epic Pass on March 18, 2018, Vail Resorts is honoring the epic service of the Company's founders from the 10th Mountain Division, and men and women of the U.S. Armed Forces, Canadian Armed Forces and Australian Defence Force, with the introduction of a special new USD$99 Military Epic Pass. Additionally, on Sunday March 18, Park City Mountain will celebrate the 10 year anniversary of the Epic Pass with activities and giveaways at the Park City Mountain Village and Canyons Village. Guests are invited to celebrate with us and enjoy complimentary s’mores, white chocolate Epic Passes, music and family activities at both base areas.

NEW Pink Park City: Saturday, March 24

Join us at Park City Mountain on March 24 for the first annual Pink Park City, a family-friendly ski day supporting cancer research. This charity ski event will bring people together to celebrate life and raise money for all types of cancer research at Huntsman Cancer Institute. In its first year, Pink Park City has set a fundraising goal of $50,000, where each participant is encouraged to fundraise $500. 100% of all funds raised will go to benefit the life-saving research taking place at Huntsman Cancer Institute. Spring Grüv: Saturday, March 24 – Saturday, April 8

Park City Mountain’s Spring Grüv festival will begin on Saturday, March 24 for 16 straight days of activities, music and special events at both base areas. This year’s Spring Grüv will be highlighted by two Saturday concerts at the Park City Mountain Village: Vista Kicks on March 24 and The Record Company on March 31. Other activities include free s’mores, family après activities, meet and greets with the avalanche dogs, a cornhole tournament and the annual Pond Skimming Competition. 

Annual Easter Celebration and Egg Hunt: Sunday, April 1

Park City Mountain’s annual all-mountain egg hunt returns!  On Easter Morning, more than 7,000 eggs will be scattered across the Resort holding treats for all ages. Those up for a real Easter challenge can follow the clues and look for one of four hidden Golden Eggs that hold special grand prizes. Kids ages six and under can hunt for eggs at the Park City Mountain Village and Canyons Village base areas and kids older than six can hunt for eggs on First Time Run. All hunts start promptly at 9am.

22nd Annual Pond Skimming Competition: Saturday, April 7

Whether your go-to spring skiing costume is an 80’s onesie, a sparkled-out tutu or something else you’ve been prepping all year, it’s time to bust it out and come up to Red Pine Lodge for Spring Gruv’s grand finale, the annual Pond Skimming Competition. Pond Skim is one of the best days of the year to be on the mountain. Contestants must dress in costume (the funkier the better) as they attempt to cross a 100-foot pond on skis or a snowboard. Awards will be given out by a panel of judges for best costume, best splash and crash and overall best male and female contestant. The pond is located at the top of the Red Pine Gondola just outside of Red Pine Lodge. Competitor registration is open now here.

Closing Day: Sunday, April 8

Park City Mountain will officially wrap up the 2017-18 ski season on April 8 with Closing Day Concerts at both the Park City Mountain Village and Canyons Village. Pixie & the Partygrass Boys will perform at the Park City Mountain Village and 80s cover band The Breakfast Klub, will close out the season on the Canyons Village Stage.
