Adventures on the Park City Ridge Line

It’s taken some time this season, but finally we are skiing some of the bigger lines off the Park City Ridge Line.  All this terrain is in the backcountry, so know before you go (Utah Avalanche Forecast Center).

The new snow made for great turing conditions, so obviously the stoke level is high right now.  I was actually equally excited to try my new Rossignol Super 7’s in true untracked Wasatch powder.  The ski performed like a dream, couldn’t be happier.  The ski travels fairly light on the up hill skins and it feels right at home on big 1000 foot descents.  I think I’ve officially found my touring ski for years and years to come.

As I was writing this up the National Weather Service has posted a Winter Weather Advisory.  Here are the details

...WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 5 PM   THIS AFTERNOON TO 5 PM MST TUESDAY...

* AFFECTED AREA...THE WASATCH MOUNTAINS.

  • SNOW ACCUMULATIONS...6 TO 12 INCHES WITH LOCALLY HIGHER AMOUNTS.

More storms to follow this week!
