This morning we were slightly late to meet up with the KSL-5 (NBC) News crew. First we had to wrestle the recycling container out from the bottom of the Ski Utah van after Hilary ran it over. “When I heard the noise I thought it was just snow so I kept going,” she said. Check out this photo Hilary took of me battling the bin.
We finally dislodged it and made our way to Park City. We met up with
Matt and Ashley from KSL-5 and hit the slopes. It was Ashley and Matt’s
first day of the year and they picked a good one. It was a warm sunny
day and there weren’t many people skiing. First run was Blue Slip.
There were bumps up top, and then the bumps space out and it opens up
on the bottom. I threw a shoe for the second day in a row, right as I
started to open it up. Maybe tomorrow I can lose both skis. Next run we
hit McConkey’s. We started with a cruiser and then skied under the lift
for some chopped up Pow. The grommers were soft. The bowls had bumps
and chopped Pow. It’s a good time to ski right now before the holidays
hit. After skiing up an appetite we cruised over to the Legacy Lodge
for some lunch. I had the fish tacos, which were awesome. They are also
Krista Parry’s “favorite thing on the menu.” To see more about our day
of skiing and the blog, check out KSL-5 Tuesday morning in Salt Lake.
