Hi, we are Anna and Jacob. We are twins who live in Utah, and we have been skiing since we have been 3! We are now 10 years old and in the 5th grade, and skiing is our favorite sport. This ski season we are using our 5th Grade Passport to ski all 14 resorts in Utah and are blogging about our experience. Let us introduce ourselves.
I’m Jacob and I love skiing because of the speed I can get going down the mountain. It’s also a sport I can do my whole life, and have a lot of fun with my family. I like to ski on black diamond runs because it gives me a challenge – and sometimes I wipeout but that is OK. I also like to ski on any run that has powder, and learning tricks in the terrain parks.
And I am Anna. I love skiing because I enjoy being in the mountains in the winter and seeing all the trees covered in snow. My favorite runs are through the trees in powder. Powder is awesome because it’s fluffy and fun, and when I fall it does not hurt (except when it takes too long to dig out my skis). In the trees I like to make up my own trails and paths. I also like to do lots of turns on my runs when my brother just wants to fly down.
The first thing we thought of when it snowed a couple of weeks ago was skiing with our family. We want everyone to know how fun it is to ski. We are so excited to be writing a blog on SkiUtah.com.
We will have a blast visiting all the resorts in Utah and telling you about it. We will write and post videos to describe our favorite runs, the coolest parts of each resort, the funny things that happen, neat places to stay and eat….all from a kid’s perspective. Isn’t that awesome?! If you have ideas on things we should do we would like to hear them in the comments below. You can also follow our adventures on Twitter at @PowderTwins.

I'm on my way to Utah in a few weeks to take my kids skiing for the first time. I let them read your blog because they are 8 and 10 and are a little nervous about the whole adventure. I just hope that my boys enjoy it as much as you both do. Happy skiing!

Great idea. Am looking to start a ski pack for my kids at Solitude. I have 8,6, and 4 year olds that need more ski partners. I run a transportation business called Utah Mountain Shuttle. If your child can carry their skis and can get on the lift themselves, I will take them to Solitude just to give my kids more ski buddies. Let me know.
