Stein Eriksen is back on the slopes after a collision two years ago. He's still going to be gracing the slopes of Deer Valley making graceful arch's on the perfect corduroy, but, this season look one thing to change. Stein will be wearing a helmet. Reading the article it sounds like Stein isn't exactly happy about it. Read the article from the Salt Lake Tribune here.
It's a sign of the times. Skiing and snowboarding are inherently dangerous sports and it just makes sense to protect your head from the unforeseeable. But helmets aren't just about safety, now they are stylish too. From Snowbird to Deer Valley, from Brighton to Brian Head skiers and boarders are wearing helmets in record numbers because they are comfortable, stylish, safe, and you can even get one with your own sound system in it. Check out the latest helmets from Ski Utah Sponsor Smith and have a safe season this year.
Do you wear a helmet on the slopes? Why or why not? What's the best model out there?

I have the Smith Variant and it fits well, is fully adjustable and the audio package makes playing tunes easy. Plus a helmet keeps you warm on cold days.

I have always worn the variant brim by Smith, but I am trying their Maze helmet this season.

I agree, the Smith Variant Brim is the way to go. Just got mine outfitted with an audio kit, so no more trying to stuff iPod earbuds inside my helmet.

The Smith Variant Brim is the best helmet I've ever owned. I don't even know it's there.
